At Devcon 2024, Plume Network played a key role in advancing Real World Assets Finance (RWAFi) on the blockchain through hosted events and panel discussions. As crypto adoption grows, we're focused on building connections that will drive RWAFi forward with actionable solutions.
Here's where we were during Devcon week and how we're incorporating our latest insights from these events.
The EEA Industry Day began the week with discussions on how Ethereum is applied to enterprise solutions. Plume’s CBO, Teddy Pornprinya, participated in a panel exploring sustainable Layer 2 business models, contributing a RWAfi perspective alongside speakers from Circle, Microsoft, and EY.
This event provided a platform to discuss scalable and compliant solutions that address the increasing demand for transparency and liquidity in asset tokenization. The discussion also highlighted how Plume is adapting its strategies to align with evolving industry trends.
In this panel, Teddy explored the steps required to bring RWAs on-chain and make them accessible to both institutional and retail markets. Featuring experts from Pyth, Emurgo, and Mizzle, the session addressed challenges in tokenizing assets onchain.
Observations indicated that while enthusiasm for RWAs is growing, it still lags behind the excitement surrounding community-driven projects like memecoins. This panel aimed to bridge that gap by focusing on practical frameworks for developer success, ensuring that RWA solutions become more accessible and appealing to a broader audience.
Hosted by Plume, this event provided a relaxed setting for conversations about RWAfi and networking with peers over cocktails and music.
Drawing from our experience with previous events, we focused on creating impactful gatherings that fostered deeper connections, aligning with our strategy of nurturing partnerships through well-planned events and enhancing community engagement.
At HotpotDAO’s Devcon gathering, Plume sponsored an evening of food and conversation. This event brought together innovators to discuss practical strategies and challenges in Web3 growth.
Attendees were able to connect with top founders and investors over great food and insightful conversations.
The AiFi Summit showcased the increasing convergence of AI and blockchain. Teddy presented Plume’s vision for the financialization of AI assets, emphasizing the potential of tokenizing compute resources and data marketplaces as RWAs.
This session reinforced our conviction that AI-RWAfi represents a significant growth opportunity. It aligns with our strategy to drive innovation and leverage emerging trends in decentralized AI platforms to create new revenue streams and transformative solutions.
Plume participated as a partner in ArbiVerse Bangkok, an interactive day focused on Arbitrum’s ecosystem and innovations. We shared insights on how RWAfi can enhance Real Market Economy (RME) initiatives.
By focusing on RME initiatives, we aim to broaden the scope of DeFi, delivering practical financial applications that resonate with users seeking meaningful engagement beyond speculation.
Plume partnered with Steak Studio to host a private rooftop dinner in Bangkok for angel investors, VCs, and RWA professionals. This exclusive gathering provided an intimate setting for in-depth discussions on RWA development, funding strategies, and regulatory insights.
Recognizing that regulatory clarity is both a challenge and an opportunity, the event focused on the critical role of compliance in driving institutional adoption. Discussions highlighted Plume’s built-in compliance infrastructure and explored innovative mechanisms to secure RWAs with collateral, ensuring stability and mitigating risks similar to past market failures like FTT.
Plume, alongside Espresso Systems, Polygon Labs, and others, hosted a day of padel, networking, and relaxation. Designed to foster an open and informal environment, this event provided a refreshing opportunity for meaningful conversations outside the structured format of Devcon.
Highlighting the importance of community engagement and brand visibility, this gathering aligned perfectly with our strategy to enhance marketing efforts through relationship-building in relaxed settings. It was an invaluable opportunity to connect with the community and further increase awareness of Plume’s vision and initiatives.
Wrapping up Devcon, the Injective Summit brought together leaders to bridge the gap between TradFi and DeFi. Jack participated in a panel titled “What does BD even do?”, emphasizing how partnerships and strategic growth drive adoption.
During the panel, we shared how Plume is addressing key challenges like liquidity constraints and regulatory uncertainties, focusing on seamless integrations and a strong commitment to compliance to overcome these barriers effectively.
Our Chief Strategy Officer Shukyee led a workshop highlighting Ethereum and EVM-based environments as bridging TradFi and DeFi. Ethereum’s maturity and the adaptability of the EVM for regulated environments make it uniquely positioned to support real-world applications while maintaining compliance. Institutions, governments, and central banks can leverage these ecosystems to bridge traditional and decentralized finance, fostering transparency, scalability, and regulatory alignment. The need for frameworks that integrate permissionless blockchains with institutional-grade standards are especially important, a focus that aligns with Plume’s commitment to scalable and compliant RWAfi solutions.
Devcon 2024 made one thing clear: RWAfi is here, and its transformative potential is undeniable. Plume Network took center stage, driving deep collaborations between Web3, DeFi and TradFi.
Goons, get ready!
