From September 16th to 20th, 2024, we dove headfirst into the vibrant world of blockchain, AI, and finance, showcasing Plume’s vision for the future of tokenized real world assets.
Our Thoughts on the RWAfi Sector
If there’s one thing TOKEN2049 made crystal clear, it’s that RWAfi is no longer just a buzzword — it’s rapidly shaping up to be the bridge between traditional finance and the blockchain world. The sector is evolving fast, fueled by a collective drive to bring transparency, efficiency, and accessibility to asset markets that have been historically slow to change. In the midst of TOKEN2049 Plume Network tokenizes over $1B in RWA like solar farms, Medicaid claims and mineral rights.
The excitement was undeniable, and it was inspiring to see so many thought leaders aligning on the importance of scaling RWA solutions. The industry is moving beyond the “why” and diving deep into the “how” — how to make these solutions scalable, compliant, and truly impactful. It’s a thrilling space to be in, and Plume is proud to be leading the charge.

Our week kicked off with RWA Unwind at The St. Regis — a perfect start that set the tone for what was to come. The event brought together some of the brightest minds in the industry, including Polygon’s Sandeep Nailwal, who shared insights on how Layer-2 solutions can supercharge the tokenization of real-world assets. Our big takeaway? The RWA space is ready for prime time, but the tech needs to keep up. - RWAfi Party: Assets on the Rocks 🥃
Sometimes, the best connections happen over a good drink, and our RWAfi Party was the place to be. We mingled with top VCs, KOLs, and industry enthusiasts, and the conversations were as refreshing as the cocktails. The night was a reminder of the power of community and the value of building relationships that go beyond the boardroom. - Plume VIP Dinner: Intimate and Impactful
We hosted an exclusive VIP dinner, where we traded the bustling conference vibe for a more intimate setting. Over fine dining, we discussed the future of RWAfi with key industry players. The key takeaway? There’s a hunger for deeper, more targeted discussions that don’t always fit into a panel or stage presentation. The dinner was a great reminder that sometimes, the best insights come in smaller, focused settings. - Demo Day with Superscrypt: Showcasing Innovation
Demo Day was all about showcasing what’s next. We saw some of the most innovative projects in the RWAfi space, with live pitches that had everyone buzzing about the future. Watching these startups shine reinforced the importance of nurturing new ideas. and providing the right platforms for them to grow. I.e. Medex, RealtyX, Cultured, PumpKing, Zona, KixMafia, SilverKoi - Panel Discussions and Strategic Brunches: The Big Conversations
Throughout the week, Plume was right in the mix of key conversations — from brunches that brought builders together to panels exploring the intersection of tokenization, credit, and DeFi. One big learning point was the need for clear, actionable regulatory frameworks. The industry’s growth hinges on compliance, and it’s something that’s on everyone’s mind as we push forward.
Team Reflections: RWAfi is Just Getting Started
TOKEN2049 felt like a major turning point for RWAfi, transforming how we think about ownership, liquidity, and access to finance. There’s a real sense of urgency and excitement, and we’re seeing firsthand how blockchain can unlock opportunities that were previously unimaginable.
But, as with any emerging sector, challenges remain. Scalability, regulatory clarity, and the integration of real world and decentralized finance need more work. Yet, it’s these challenges that make RWAfi so thrilling. Plume is not just witnessing the future of finance, we’re building it.

We’re coming out of TOKEN2049 more energized than ever. Our mission to simplify RWAfi project deployment and expand access to tokenized finance is front and center as we look to the future.
