Across panels, side events, and private gatherings, the week reflected Hong Kong's growing importance as a global hub for tokenization and forward-thinking crypto policy.
As a team built by proud Cantonese natives, the experience carried a personal dimension. From the government’s progressive stance to the community’s warm welcome, we’ve come to think of Hong Kong as our "second home."
🇭🇰 Hong Kong’s Policy Shift: A New Era for RWA
Throughout the festival, regulators and builders came together to discuss the future of digital assets and asset regulation. Officials from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) outlined new policies, including licensing frameworks, staking permissions, and upcoming stablecoin legislation, aimed at creating a secure and innovative environment for tokenized finance.

Our Chief Strategy Officer Shukyee Ma visited the Legislative Council Complex to meet with Council member Johnny Ng, who outlined Hong Kong’s current crypto policies and emphasized its ambition to become a hub for RWA innovation.

BUIDL 2025 & Web3 Festival Main Stage

In the morning, our CSO Shukyee joined executives from Ava Labs, NERO Chain, and IOS Technology for a panel on how onchain real-world assets are reshaping the financial landscape. The discussion touched on institutional adoption, technical and regulatory challenges, and the infrastructure still needed for scale. Shukyee emphasized:
"All these public chains are not built for RWA protocols,” explained Ma. “That’s why we built [Plume] and put DeFi composability on top of it to make it easier for crypto users to adopt."
Later that day, Shukyee joined a main stage panel for Web3 Festival on RWA and DeFi integration with leaders from Kee Global Advisors and more, speaking on Plume’s decision to build custom infrastructure for RWAs.
Plume’s Growth Lead, Anthony Blackburn, also took the main stage to speak on the entrance of traditional capital into crypto markets. His remarks centered on institutional and family office appetite for real-world assets, as well as the role of stablecoins and tokenization in expanding access and efficiency.

In collaboration with DigiFT and Copper, we hosted a private dinner for partners, investors, and collaborators across the RWA space. Attendees included top-tier institutions such as the Chairman of Cyberport, Galaxy Digital, UOB, and Invesco, demonstrating the growing institutional alignment around real-world asset tokenization. The evening was filled with high-impact conversations, reinforcing Plume's growing presence in Asia’s financial innovation landscape. for partners, investors, and collaborators across the RWA space. It was a powerful reminder of how aligned this ecosystem is on making real world asset finance a reality.
Web3 Wealth Night: Institutional Mixer

Co-hosted with DigiFT, ChainUp Investment, and Sinohope Asset, this invite-only event brought together top fund managers, tokenization platforms, and crypto-native traders. Shukyee Ma took the opportunity to announce Apollo’s strategic investment in Plume—a major milestone that generated strong interest among attendees. The evening’s energy, set against a backdrop of music and celebration, reflected the growing excitement around tokenized RWAs and the institutional capital flowing into the space. This invite-only event brought together top fund managers, tokenization platforms, and crypto-native traders. The conversations centered on DeFi-native risk frameworks, custody innovation, and how tokenized RWAs can reshape multi-strategy portfolios.
Limitless DeFi: Open and Interoperable Web3

Anthony joined a panel hosted by Chainlink and Animoca Brands to discuss the evolution of Web3 identity. His insights focused on decentralized identity (DID) solutions and their relevance for RWA adoption, particularly the role of verifiable credentials in enabling permissionless access while maintaining regulatory compliance. The session highlighted how identity frameworks and open systems are key pillars for real world assets to scale onchain.
Our week in Hong Kong deepened our relationships with the community, regulators, and institutions at the forefront of RWA adoption. From strategic panels to intimate dinners, the message was clear: Hong Kong is ready to lead.
